Interment will be at the Veterans Cemetery in Winfield. A memorial has been established with the Union Rescue Mission and may be left with Shelley Family Funeral Home.

Albert was born September 2, 1949 in Mercedes, Texas to Alfredo and Ofelia Sauceda. He was one of ten children. He went to work in a grocery store at age eight because he wanted to help provide for his family. The owner of the store did not want to hire him because of his age, but Albert persistently stood outside his office until the man gave him a small job.

Albert got his GED after only a short time of study in Houston and then joined the U.S. Marine Corps at age 20. He went to Vietnam in 1970 and served in the Marine Corps until 1982. He had become a staff sergeant. Then he worked security in a nuclear plant in California until he moved to Kansas in 1986 to marry Vickie. They moved to Riverdale in 1987 where they lived to this day.

Albert got saved in 1976 but did not actively serve the Lord until he moved to Kansas. Then he served the Lord wholeheartedly. He loved to tell everyone he met about Jesus and the plan of salvation. It was a spirit of evangelism and his great love for the Lord that motivated him.

In 1996 he started becoming blind and needed to go on dialysis. His blindness and renal failure were attributed to Agent Orange exposure in Vietnam. In 2004 he started getting compensation from the Veterans Administration and he and his wife were able to build a new house in Riverdale. Albert had many surgeries and hospitalizations and in 2018 became weaker and weaker.

He is survived by his wife Vickie of the home; sisters: Margarita Alfone of New Orleans, Gloria Reynolds and husband Kirk of Riverdale, Aurora Hynes and husband Jay of Wichita, Anita Haeri and husband Hossein of Wichita, Olga Williams of Salt Lake City, Utah; brothers: Ruben Sauceda and wife Antonio of Salt Lake City, Utah, Eloy Sauceda and wife Rosa of La Feria, Texas, and Rodolfo Sauceda and wife Cheryl of Haysville. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Rolando Sauceda.

II Timothy 4:7 and 8

“I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith: Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day: and not to me only, but unto all them also that love his appearing.”
