Dean Wayne Richardson, 72, of Arkansas City, KS, passed away on Sunday evening, January 27, 2019 at his residence surrounded by his family.  

Dean was born on April 8, 1946 in Arkansas City, KS, the son of Talbert Earl and Deloris (Lowrie) Richardson.  He was reared and educated in Arkansas City, where he graduated from high school in 1964.  After high school, he joined the United States Navy during the Vietnam War.   He served in the tele-communications and security department.   He was honorably discharged in 1968.   On August 17, 1968, he married the love of his life, Emily Fuertes, in San Francisco, California.  The couple lived a short time in Daly City, CA and in Dallas, Texas.  As the couple had their children family became important. The couple moved back to Arkansas City and Dean worked as a butcher in every grocery store in this area.  After 40 years, he retired from Apple Market IGA in Wellington in 2006.  

Dean was a member of the Calvary Chapel and enjoyed tennis and perhaps all sports as well as watching his grandchildren excel in sports and their interest. 

Surviving to honor his memory is his wife, Emily of the home; his children, Marc Richardson and Janell Darr; Danny and Maxie Richardson and Joel and Katha Richardson; his siblings, Darrell and Sheri Richardson,  Phil and Pam Richardson, Gene and Dawn Richardson, Jeff and Angela Richardson,  Mia Richardson, Peggy Richardson and Eric White;  his sister-in-law, Debbie Richardson; his 9 grandchildren, Jacob Richardson, Parker Richardson, Paxton Richardson, Lakyn Richardson, Rory Richardson, Hayley Helms, Makaila Gillespie, Lakin Hixson and Sheridan Hixson and 2 great-grandchildren.   He was preceded in death by his parents, mother and father-in-law, Raymond and Grace Fuertes, sister and brother-in-law, Marvin and Sharon Pool and brother, Tab Richardson.
