Dennis Leroy Gilliland

Dennis Leroy Gilliland, 63, lifetime resident of Winfield, KS, passed away on Monday morning, July 23, 2018 at his home.

A memorial service with military honors will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Friday, July 27th at Shelley Family Funeral Home Chapel of Winfield.  No visitation is planned. 

Dennis was born on August 6, 1954 in Winfield the son of Roy and Eula (McCaslin) Gilliland.  He was reared and educated in Winfield.  For a time, he served in the United States Marine Corps.   He worked as a mechanic with City of Winfield for 25 years. In 2002, he began working for Cowley County as a mechanic and retired in 2010. 

Dennis enjoyed working on cars, fishing, shooting guns and riding motorcycles. 

He is survived by his sons:  Roy Gilliland and wife Whitney of Winfield and Wesley Gilliland and wife Jennifer of Udall, KS; his siblings, George Wilson of Winfield and Nina Harvey of Missouri; his 3 grandsons, Yates, Quaid and Kruz Gilliland.   He was preceded in death by his parents.
