Donald Neil Jones

Donald Jones, 79, of Oxford, KS, passed away Saturday, September 15, 2018 at his home in Oxford, Kansas.

  Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M., Friday, September 21, 2018 at the Oxford Funeral Service Chapel. Visitation will be Thursday, September 20, 2018 from 12:00 until 8:00 P.M. with the family receiving friends from 6:00 until 8:00 P.M. Burial will be at the Oxford Cemetery.

   Donald Neil Jones was born December 1, 1938, the son of Tippee and Thelma (Englehardt) Jones in Booneville, AR. He attended Arkansas City High School and joined the marines and served his country during Vietnam War. Donald was united in marriage to Opal Whaley on February 6, 1970. He retired from G.E. in 1995. Donald was an avid hunter of elk, deer and moose in Colorado. He also enjoyed fishing, bow hunting and painting. His family was very important to him as well as his time in the U.S. Marine Corps.

  Donald is survived by his loving wife, Opal of the home; children: Tresa Tong (Tim) of Oxford, William Bill Jones (Lori) of Arkansas City, Roxanna Lewis (Bill) of Winfield and Kathleen Kennedy (Troy) of Oxford; a sister, Wanda Goldsmith; 10 grandchildren and 14 greatgrandchildren.

  He is preceded in death by his parents and 2 sisters.
