Ella May Lumley

Ella May Lumley, 80, of Arkansas City, KS, passed away on October 17, 2018 at Winfield Senior Living Community. 

Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Monday, October 22, 2018 on at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.  Burial will follow at Geuda Springs Cemetery.  No visitation or viewing service is planned.  A memorial has been established with the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.  

Ella May was born on September 4, 1938 in Silverdale, KS, the daughter of Pete L.  and Erma Mae (Brock) Hill.   She was united in marriage to Noland Richard Lumley on October 8, 1955 in Sedan, KS.  The couple made their home in Arkansas City.  She also worked at the Winfield State Hospital and Training Center.  After the State Hospital closed, she worked as secretary at the Kansas Veterans Commission in Winfield.  She was constant learner and obtained 2 bachelor’s degrees later in life.  Her husband preceded her in death on March 1, 1993.  Ella May was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and also enjoyed being a Boy Scouts den mother.

Her family includes: her children; Earl D. Lumley of Texas, Richard and Shawn Adams-Lumley of Arkansas City, KS; her sisters; Marchel Hill of Oklahoma and Marcia Sivils of Missouri and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.  In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded death by her daughter, Christina May Heilig; half-sister, Virginia Mae Seifert, granddaughter, Damaree Lumley and great-grandson, Jacob Tyler Goad.
