Erma Jean Pendrak Obituary

Erma Jean Pendrak, 94, of Arkansas City, KS, passed away on Saturday, December 14, 2019 at Presbyterian Manor of Arkansas City.

Cremation has taken place and a memorial inurnment service will be at 1:00 P.M. on Saturday, December 21, 2019 at Riverview Cemetery in Arkansas City, KS.  In lieu of flowers, memorials have been established in Ms. Pendrak’s name with Shepherd’s Grace Church and Cowley County Humane Society.  Contributions may be left with Shelley Family Funeral Home.   Online condolences may be made at www.shelleyfamilyfh.com

Erma Jean was born on September 29, 1925 in Arkansas City, KS, the daughter of Walter and Mary Isabell (Savage) Cassady.  She graduated from Arkansas City High School in 1943.  On April 5th, 1947, she was united in marriage to A.F. “Del” Pendrak in Enid, Oklahoma.   She was a secretary and worked for various place including, Arkansas City Memorial Hospital, General Electric and a couple of attorney’s offices.  Erma Jean was a member of Shepherd’s Grace Church of Arkansas City.  She enjoyed writing and baseball, but most favorite would be her seven dogs that all preceded her in death.

Her family includes:  her daughter, Susan Metzen (John) of Independence, MO; her son, Brad Pendrak (Jane) in Derby, KS; her daughter-in-law; Lois Pendrak of Nevada, MO; her grandchildren, Ryan Metzen, Jan Hoth(Nick), Gina Pendrak, Lisa Nola(Brandon), Stacy Ashenbrenner(Steve) and Brent Cunningham(Kristina) and family friend and caretaker, Andy Zimmerman; 12 great-grandchildren, Jude Metzen, Levi Metzen, Sadie Metzen, Elaine Hoth, Ann Hoth, Will Hoth, Josie Nolan, Dayne Ashenbrenner, Bodyn Ashenbrenner, Brooklyn Ashenbrenner, Talon Cunningham and Tate Cunningham and one great grandson on the way.   She was preceded in death by her husband, son, Dennis Pendrak and 2 grandchildren, William Joseph Metzen and Jean Elizabeth Metzen and several half-siblings, Emily Ramey, Marion Pappan and Walter Pappan.
