George Wayne Roe

George Wayne Roe, 67, of Newkirk, OK passed away Thursday, June 28, 2018 at his home.

Memorial services will be held at 10 AM Tuesday, July 3 at Memorial Lawn Cemetery in Arkansas City. Memorial contributions in George’s name can be made to the American Heart Association, contributions may be left in care of the Shelley Family Funeral Home – 906 W. Kansas, Arkansas City, KS 67005.

George Wayne Roe was born in Newkirk, OK on September 20, 1950 the son of George and Maxine (Law) Roe. He graduated from Newkirk High School and attended Okmulgee Tech School. George worked at as machinist at Boeing Aircraft for many years, he retired from Boeing in 2005 and then worked as a security guard for the Kaw Nation for 15 years. On December 10, 1976 George married the love of his life Donna Martin in Newkirk. He enjoyed fishing, camping and spending time with his family.

Survivors include his wife Donna Roe, children: Amy Mabry, Brian Roe and Kari Schumacher; siblings: Dennis Butler, Jim Roe and Robin Simmons, as well as 10 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his mother Maxine Bailey and stepfather Bob Bailey, father George Roe and spouse Louise, sister-in-law Terry Butler and nephew Adam Roe.
