Lois Arline Bogner was born on May 21, 1922, the daughter of Trevy Morton and Eunice Olive Richards, the oldest of 13 children. While living in western Kansas and just before entering her teen years, she trusted in Christ as Savior and was later baptized in a creek on a cool spring day. Lois was a 1942 graduate of Winfield High School and worked for Boeing during World War II building airplanes to help the war effort. In 1943 she entered the United States Cadet Nurse Corps receiving her training at William Newton Memorial Hospital and then worked there as a registered surgical nurse. On August 8, 1948 Lois was united in marriage with Philip E. Bogner.
Lois began her nursing career at William Newton Memorial Hospital but devoted her time to being a mother and farm wife after marriage. She was a 4-H leader, children's Sunday school and children's church teacher, and church AWANA leader for many years. After her four children were in school, she returned as a registered nurse working initially at Good Samaritan Rest Home, then as a registered surgical nurse at Snyder Clinic for 27 years.
Lois moved to Cumbernauld Village in 2011, where she made it her ministry to visit others in the facility and pray with them. Residents often came to her with prayer requests knowing she would honor those requests.
