Margaret Alexander, 87, formerly of Oxford passed away January 17, 2014, at the Reflections Residential Care Center in Wichita, KS.


Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M., Thursday, January 23, 2014 at Oxford Christian Church. Visitation will be Wednesday, January 22, 2014 from 9:00 A.M. until 8:00 P.M. with the family greeting friends from 5:00 until 7:00 P.M. Burial will be in the Oxford Cemetery. A memorial has been established with Rivercross Hospice and Reflections Residential Care and may be left with Oxford Funeral Service.

Margaret Mary Alexander was born March 1, 1926 the daughter of Andrew and Mary (Ellen) Pantell in Bakersfield, CA. She graduated from Bakersfield High School. Margaret was united in marriage on April 4, 1947 to DeVerne Alexander in Long Beach California. They moved to Wichita, Kansas and farmed in the Greenwich area until 1955 when they moved to Ismay, Montana. They moved to Oxford in 1964. DeVerne passed away 15 years ago on the same day. Margaret enjoyed reading, movies, going to the casino, bowling and getting her hair and nails done. She belonged to the Mother's Club and loved spending time with her grandchildren.

Margaret is survived by her children, Craig Alexander and his wife Gloria of Oxford, KS, Ramona Tener and her husband Cliff of Mesa, AZ, and Laurel Ann Snide of Wichita, KS; grandchildren: Heather Alexander, Cassandra Alexander, Chelsey Stefan, Shawn Tener, Mitchell Snide, Tyler Snide, Whitney Snide and four great grandchildren: Jackson Stefan, Teagan Williams, Macon McBride and Hunter Tener.

She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband DeVerne on January 17, 1999 and two Sisters.
