Marilyn Lyons Obituary

Marilyn Joan Whaley Lyons, 86, of Newton, Kansas, passed away at Kansas Christian Home on September 8, 2019 from complications of advanced stages of Alzheimer’s. Before moving to Newton Marilyn was a longtime resident of Oxford, Kansas.

Graveside Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 P.M., Saturday, September 21, 2019 at the Oxford Cemetery. Oxford Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Marilyn is preceded in death by her husband, Willie Thomas Lyons Sr., and three of her children: Robert Reed, Karen Marie, Willie Thomas Lyons Junior and her grandson, Willie Thomas Lyons III.

She is survived by her remaining four children: Richard Lyons of Sugarloaf California, Marsha Lynn (George) Broz of Newton, Kansas, Donna Gail Thomas (Jim) of St. George, Utah and Mark Lane Lyons of Newton, Kansas. She is also survived by 15 grandchildren.
