Marilyn Ann May, 66, of Arkansas City, KS, passed away on Wednesday, October 23, 2019, at her daughter’s home in Arkansas City, KS.
Cremation will take place upon her request. A memorial has been established to help with her funeral expenses. Contributuions may be made through Shelley Family Funeral Home of Arkansas City.
Marilyn was born on August 1, 1953, in Wellington, KS, the daughter of Fred and Gertrude Imogene (Sharpsteen) Gibson. She was reared in South Haven, KS. On September 24, 1971, she married Gerald May in Arkansas City. The couple had two children, Shelly and Denise and lived in Arkansas City. Marilyn was a homemaker and enjoyed watching movies, puzzles, games, plants and roses. She was a devoted caregiver for her parents and aunt during their final years. She loved all animals, especially horses and dogs. She was also a member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church.
Her family includes: her children, Shelley Hudson and Jimmy Raby; Denise Cooper and ex-son-in-law, Jeff Cooper; her brother, Fred Gibson and wife Charlotte; 4 grandchildren, Chelsey Hudson, Alyssa Hudson, Juleea Cooper and Brenton Cooper; 2 great-grandchildren, Kale McBane and Josie Bacon and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Frank Gibson; sister, Deborah Pierce; nephews, Billy Lavender and Donald Bland.
