Martha Lee (Sparks) King

Martha Lee King, 68, formerly of Winfield, KS, passed away on Tuesday, June 18, 2019 at Wesley Medical Center of Wichita, KS.

Martha Lee was born on February 13, 1951, in Winfield, KS, the daughter of Henry and Ruth (Archer) Sparks.  She attended Frog Hollow grade school and Winfield High School.  She was homemaker and enjoyed her time raising and caring for her children.  She also enjoyed riding Harley motorcycles, fishing, Bingo, puzzle books, cards, dancing and listening to music and time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.  She will be missed by her family and friends.

Her family includes: her daughters, Yvonne Butler of Topeka, KS, Connie King of Caldwell, KS, Kim Love and Angela Davis of Winfield, KS; her sister, Susan Ham of Anthony, KS; her 9 grandchildren, David King, Tatum King Paris, Michael Love, Halie Oxford, Payten Oxford, Jackie King, Crystal Leslie, Christopher Weigand, Jennifer Dobbs and Jaeden Dobbs and 18 great-grandchildren and numerous extended family members.  She was preceded in death by her parents, daughter, Michell “Shelly” K. King,  great-granddaughter, Julian Lee Gose; granddaughter, Lisa Marie Wilson; great niece, Abigail Moody and brother, Charles Sparks.   

Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Monday, June 24, 2019 at Shelley Family Funeral Home of Winfield.  Burial will follow at Burden, Kansas Cemetery.  A visitation with the family will take place on Sunday evening from 5:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. at the funeral home.
