Michael L. Brinkmeyer

Michael Lynn Brinkmeyer, 57, of Winfield, KS passed away at his home on Friday, September 7, 2018.

A celebration of life service will be held at the Leon Cemetery in Leon, KS at 1:00 P.M. Monday, September 17. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Cowley County Human Society in honor of Michael’s dog “Winnie the Woo” and to the Shelley Family Funeral Home to defray funeral expenses. Contributions can be left in the care of the Shelley Family Funeral Home – 803 Loomis Winfield, KS 67156.

Michael was born on December 23, 1960 in McPherson, KS to parents William Mead and Shirley (Mays) Brinkmeyer. He graduated from Douglass High School in 1979 and later received an associate’s degree from Butler County Community College.

Michael worked in customer service for many different internet and TV providers, he enjoyed telecommunications as well as watching TV and playing video games. He was an avid history buff and had a special interest in American history, especially the eras of World War I and II. He enjoyed making model airplanes, and trains and he loved his dog Winnie.

He is preceded in death by his parents and sister Sara Jane Brinkmeyer.

Michael’s family includes: sister Patti Brinkmeyer, nephew Jace Butcher, aunt MaryEtta Moore and husband D. Joe, aunt Leona Brinkmeyer, close cousins Phil Brinkmeyer and Denise Filkins and numerous other family members.
