Naomi Lee (Meece) Davis, 91, of Winfield passed away Wednesday, July 24, 2019 at her home, surrounded by her loved ones.
Funeral services will be held at 10 AM Thursday, August 1 at the First Church of the Nazarene in Winfield. Interment will follow at the Winfield Veterans’ Cemetery. Visitation with family present will be held from 6-8 PM Wednesday, July 31 at the Shelley Family Funeral Home of Winfield. Memorial contributions may be made to the First Church of the Nazarene Nursery Fund, contributions may be left in care of the funeral home.
Naomi was born on February 20, 1928 in Evansville, Indiana the daughter of Lester and Clarabell (Osborn) Meece. She graduated from high school in Richmond, Indiana. Naomi was united in marriage to Harroll J. Davis in Hendersonville, Kentucky on April 14, 1947, he preceded her in death in 2009. She loved being a homemaker and caring for her family, she also worked for Coca Cola and ran a laundromat with her husband. Naomi was a very giving person and was very involved in her church, she sang in the choir, helped run the nursery, and also volunteered at voting booths. She had many hobbies, including: going to yard sales, doing crafts, singing and playing piano, decorating, metal detecting, playing Nintendo, and collecting bells and Coca Cola products; but her favorite way to spend time was being with her family.
She is survived by son Dru Davis, daughter Kerry Vaughn and husband Terry, grandchildren: Jesse Davis and wife Abby, Kenneth Davis and wife Sarah, Daniel Davis Jr. and wife Heather, Ashley Wright, Rita V. Morton, Samantha Alvord and husband Bart, Jennifer Burrow and husband Justin, Jason Haunschild, Alba Davis, and Brandon Bratcher; as well as many great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; sisters: Shirley Sizemore and husband Homer, Mary Lou Mitchell, and Willie Chandler and husband Wade. Preceding her in death is her husband Harroll, her parents, son Daniel Davis Sr., and brothers: Leroy Meece, Jim Meece, and Joe Meece.
