Patricia Sue Blakey

Patricia Sue Blakey, 79, of Winfield passed away Monday, August 13, 2018 at Cumbernauld Village.

Funeral services will be held at 2 PM Saturday, August 18 at the Shelley Family Funeral Home Chapel – 803 Loomis St. Winfield, KS 67156. Burial will follow at Tannehill Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Friday, August 17 from 12-7 PM at the funeral home, the family will greet friends from 5-7 PM. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Cowley County Humane Society, the Southwestern College Nursing Scholarship or the Winfield Food Pantry. Contributions may be left in care of the funeral home.

Patricia Sue was born in Bartlesville, Oklahoma the daughter of Ralph and Hazel (Slavens) Brakey. She attended Bartlesville schools she later attended Cowley County Community College. After a 10 year courtship Patricia was united in marriage to Raymond Blakey On November 16, 1983 in Pawhuska, Oklahoma. She was an LPN for many years and worked at the Arkansas City Hospital, she worked in obstetrics and was passionate about bringing babies into the world. Patricia also enjoyed gardening, reading, the theatre and music, she went to the Walnut Valley Blue Grass Festival for 37 years. Her family was the most important thing in her life.

She is survived by her son Robert “Joe” Summers (Nancy) of Florida, daughter Sheri Summers of Hannibal, Missouri and daughter Terri Summers of Winfield; step children: Mitchell Blakey (Melisa), Terrill Blakey (Kandy) and Pamela Doty (Mitch); 10 grandchildren, and many great and great-great grandchildren.

Patricia is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and 3 brothers and 1 grandchild.
