Rex Turner, 65, of Wellington, KS, passed away Thursday, July 19, 2018 at his home in Wellington, Kansas.
Memorial Services will be held at 10:30 A.M., Thursday, July 26 at the Shelley Family Funeral Home in Wellington, KS.
Rex Lee Turner was born on April 5, 1953 the son of Roy and Goldie (Shelburn) Turner in Wellington, KS. He was a 1971 graduate of Wellington High School. Rex served his country from 1971 to 1975 in the United States Navy, during Vietnam. While in the service he learned his construction trade and continued it into his own business that he owned and operated for over 30 years. He was known to many people as Woodbutcher.
Rex married Barbara (McMillen) on February 20, 1975, where they had 2 children. He later remarried his life companion Angela Rose on September 21, 1990. On that day they combined their families. Rex loved being outdoors hunting and fishing.
Rex is survived by his wife, Angela of the home, daughters: Rachel Brusky and husband Brian of Wellington and Cindy Loomis of Wichita; sons: Greg Mingle of Wichita and Jeff Mingle of Belle Plaine, KS; sister, Kay Supon and husband Ted of Wellington and Sue Snyder and husband Daniel of South Haven KS; 9 grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his parents and his son, Larry Turner.
