Ruth Elaine Raub, 66, of Arkansas City, KS, went home to heaven surrounded by her loved ones on Saturday, July 28, 2018 at her home.
A memorial service will be held at 3:00 P.M. on Friday, August 3, 2018 at the Newkirk United Methodist Church. A memorial fund has been established in Ruth’s name to help with the cost of funeral arrangements. Contributions may be made through Shelley Family Funeral Home of Arkansas City.
Ruth Elaine was born on September 27, 1951 in Salina, KS, the daughter of Willis and Nancy Lee (VanCleef) Lawrence. She graduated from Oxford High School in 1970. On May 7, 1976, she was united in marriage to Donald Raub in Belle Plaine, KS. The couple made their home in Arkansas City the last 38 years. In 1983, she completed her training and became a Certified Medication Aide. Her most recent employment was with Presbyterian Manor of Arkansas City, where she retired in 2007. She loved spending time with her family and friends. Playing card, fishing and listening to music were also among her favorite things. She will be deeply missed by her family and friends.
Her family includes: her husband, Donald of the home; her children, Kelly and Dave Wentling of Branson, MO; Eddie and April Raub of El Dorado, KS; Robert and Hope Martin of Newkirk, OK and Anna Robinson and Terrence Riley of Braman, OK; her siblings, Judy Hefley and husband Jim of Winfield; Connie Adameck Wallis of Bentley, KS, Cindy Maxwell and husband John of Caldwell, ID and Perry Pulver of Larned, KS; her 16 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, her step-father, Robert Pulver and one brother, John Pulver.
