After the death of her daughter Nancy, at age 6, Trudy was inspired to go back to school and become a nurse.  After graduating from nursing school, Trudy had a successful career as a nurse at the Winfield Hospital where she was known for her hard work ethic, compassion and sense of humor.  Trudy enjoyed painting landscapes of Kansas scenery and also applied her artistic talents to her quilting.  She was very generous with her quilts, sharing them with family and friends, who cherish them as family heirlooms.
