Wilberta "Billie" Jane (Peters) Kelly

Wilberta “Billie” Jane Kelly, 77, of Winfield, passed away Wednesday, July 4, 2018 at William Newton Hospital in Winfield, KS.

A celebration of life service will be held on Wednesday, July 4, 2018 at 6 P.M. at the Geuda Springs Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Geuda Springs Museum, contributions may be left in care of the Shelley Family Funeral Home – PO Box 555 Wellington, KS 67152.

Wilberta was born on August 11, 1940 in Winfield, KS to proud parents Wilbert and Irene (Culver) Peters. She raised in Geuda Springs and graduated from Geuda Springs High School. She was united in marriage to John Joseph Kelly Jr. on March 1, 1957 in Miami, OK. When their children were in grade school they moved to Oxford, KS and in 1980 they moved to Hackney, KS. Billie loved country music and enjoyed going to concerts and line dancing, she was also a fantastic cook. She loved going to her grandkids events and games. Billie and John also enjoyed taking family vacations all over the country.

Surviving to honor her memory are children: John Kelly III, Vicki Athearn, Wilbert Kelly and wife Christy, Sandy Peters and husband Greg, Marcie Grace and daughter-in-law Diana Kelly; grandchildren: Justin, Tyson, Austin, Matthew, Lisa, Kelli Lynn, Gregory, Dewey, Logan, Cody, and Morgan; 19 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. She is preceded in death by her husband, parents, son Dave Kelly, son-in-law Kelly Athearn, and daughter-in-law Cindy Kelly.
