Ada Belle Rich, 86, of Oxford, KS passed away Thursday, September 10, 2020 at South Central Regional Medical Center.
Graveside services will be held at 2 P.M. Friday, September 18 at the Oxford Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 2-7 P.M. Thursday, September 17 with the family greeting friends from 5-7 P.M. at the Oxford Funeral Service. Memorial contributions may be made to Angel Flight Central, contributions may be left in the care of the Oxford Funeral Service – PO Box 123 Oxford, KS 67119.
Ada was born on December 27, 1933 in Akins, OK to parents Samuel and Ada (McCauley) Emberton, the family moved to Oxford when she was 10 and she attended Oxford Schools through high school. On January 15, 1950 she was united in marriage to the love of her life Paul Rich in Oxford. The family moved to California for 6-7 years where they farmed then moved back to Oxford and she started her nursing career in earnest. Ada worked at William Newton Hospital and later Oak Haven Nursing Home, she was a member of the Oxford 1st Baptist Church and loved playing bingo, fishing, going camping and listening to gospel music.
Survivors include her daughters Linda Keady and lifetime companion Gary Kent, Freda Hotchkin, Gena Havner and Stephanie Adams, 8 grandchildren, 35 great-grandchildren and numerous great-great-grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her parents, husband Paul, daughters Janet and Joyce, brothers JW, Freddie, Raymond and Samuel Jr, sisters Delola Roberts and Agnes Coghill.
