Alfred Lee Spencer, 88, of Oxford passed away Sunday, November 29, 2020 at Homestead Assisted Living of Wellington.

Private services will be held at a later date at the Oxford Cemetery. A viewing for friends will be held from 5-8 p.m., Tuesday, December 1, at the Oxford Funeral Service.  Please adhere to local health and safety guidelines. Memorial contributions may be made to Oxford United Methodist Church or Honor Flight Kansas -Student Edition. Alfred was born October 28, 1932, in Dover, OK, to parents Charley and Agnes (Blakesley) Spencer. He graduated from Oxford High School in 1951. Alfred served in the Army from 1953 until he was honorably discharged as a corporal in 1955.  He was stationed in Korea and Japan, earning a National Defense Service Medal and Korean Service Medal. On June 5, 1955, Alfred was united in marriage to Lois Mae Callesen at the Oxford United Methodist Church. Alfred retired from Boeing Aircraft Co. with 41 years of seniority in 1992, primarily as an aviation structural mechanic. He enjoyed playing poker, blackjack, horseshoes, softball, snow skiing, and gardening. He was a member of the Oxford United Methodist Church and the Oxford Masonic Lodge. Alfred loved watching and coaching his children and watching his grandchildren in their sporting events and school activities. He and his wife, Lois, traveled extensively and especially enjoyed taking trips with family members.

He is survived by children: Kerwin Spencer and wife, Shelley, of Wellington; Brent Spencer and wife, Cheryl, of Clearwater; Kendra Jarvis and husband, Michael, of Arkansas City; and Brian Spencer and wife, Angela, of Lyndon, Kansas; sister, Frances Koehler, of Wellington, 14 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren. Alfred is preceded in death by his parents and wife, Lois Spencer.
