Anita Kay Bradbury

Anita Kay Bradbury, 85, of Winfield, KS passed away Saturday, March 22, 2025 at her home, surrounded by her children.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Thursday, March 27, 2025 at the Shelley Family Funeral Home of Winfield, Burial will follow at Tannehill Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 5-7 PM on Wednesday, March 26, 2025 at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the USD 465 foundation for the Taylor Bradbury Memorial Scholarship Fund or to the William Newton Hospital Auxiliary, donations may be left in the care of the funeral home.

Anita Kay Horton was born on September 13, 1939 in Winfield, KS to parents Lawrence and Lucille (Parsons) Horton. On October 12, 1957 she was united in marriage to the love of her life, Charles Robert “Bob” Bradbury, in Winfield. She graduated from Winfield High School in 1957. She worked at Southwest Bell for a short time before starting her family, she later worked in accounting for Edward B. Stephenson. Kay enjoyed sewing, painting, bowling, playing bridge and spending time with family and friends. She was a member of the First Christian Church and the William Newton Hospital Auxiliary.

Kay is survived by her sons: Russell Bradbury (Teresa), Walter Bradbury (Colleen), Matthew Bradbury (Laura), Jeffery Bradbury (Leigh); daughter Ann Marie Young (Ryan); grandchildren: Clint Bradbury (Kami), Candace Evers (Joshua), Jennifer Kornfield (Todd), Emily Connery (Brian), Sierra Money (Graham), Katherine Bradbury, Noble Bradbury, Claire Bradbury (Kyle), Benjamin Bradbury (Lacey), Lena Helms (Jaden), Ryan Benton (Anna), and Caden Benton (Kalee); and great-grandchildren; Boston Norris, Braxton Bradbury, Micah Evers, Caroline Evers, Norah Helms, Ivy Helms, Chris Moore, Emma Moore, Josh Moore, and brother Don Horton.

She is preceded in death by her parents, husband Bob Bradbury, grandson Taylor Bradbury, and granddaughter-in-law Katie Bradbury, in-laws Noble and Lorraine Bradbury, brother and sister-in-law Dean and Diane Bradbury, and sister-in-law Lynn Horton.
