Anna Louise Swinney, 86, passed away on May 30, 2020 at Winfield Rest Haven.
Graveside services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Thursday, June 4, 2020 at the Geuda Springs, KS Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6-8 P.M. on Wednesday, June 3 at the Shelley Family Funeral Home of Arkansas City. Memorial contributions may be made to Good Shepherd Hospice, contributions may be left in the care of the Shelley Family Funeral Home.
Anna was born on August 10, 1933 in Rural Kay County, Oklahoma to parents Albert Louis and Gladys Erma (Hunter) Buell. She attended Geuda Springs High School and worked at Wal-Mart for a number of years, until she had to retire due to an injury. She was married to Don Axton, the couple later divorced, she later married Jim Swinney. Anna loved cooking, sewing, decorating homes, crocheting dolls and also collected every Barbie doll. She enjoyed yard work and gardening and in her later years, working on amazing puzzles as a pastime.
She is survived by her brother, John Buell of Wichita; her sister, Darlene Cameron of Arkansas City; her daughter-in-law, Ila Axton of Wamego; her 5 grandchildren, many great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and great-nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband and her sons, Less and Donnie Axton.
