Arleen J. Johnson, 81, passed away peacefully on August 23, 2024 at her home with her husband and three golden retrievers by her side and surrounded by love.
She was born on February 1, 1943, in Sparta, WI to parents George and Jordace (Olsen) Coker. Later adopted by Oliver French and raised in large part by her grandparents Pete and Annette Olsen.
Arleen gave birth to two daughters and a son by her first husband and has three stepsons by her last one. With a combined 12 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren, she had plenty of love for all of them.
Children, Golden Retrievers, and friends have been the joy of her life with the hope and expectation that the adults could take care of themselves.
To know more about Arleen’s life on this earth and how she lived it, ask her dear friends Terry and Jack Leuck, Gail Nelson or LuAnn Evans in Sparta, WI, or Debby and Larry Weimer in Ulm, MT.
To know the depth and unlimited love she possessed and shared, ask her grand and great-grandchildren.
A special thank you to Jessica and Steve of Harry Hynes Hospice for their excellent in-home care.
Arleen will be cremated and buried with her husband in a Veteran’s cemetery. There will not be a funeral at this time. Arleen has been supporting St. Jude’s and Shriners for over 37 years, and could never pass a kettle at Christmas, if you would like to make a memorial contribution in her name, please use these organizations or one of your choosing. Contributions may be left in the care of the Shelley Family Funeral Home of Winfield.
