Arnetta Kay Curless, 75, of Arkansas City, Ks, passed away on Tuesday morning, September 8, 2020 at South Central Kansas Medical Center in Arkansas City.
A Graveside Memorial Service will take place at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday morning, September 12, 2020 at Springside Cemetery southeast of Arkansas City, KS. A memorial has been established in her name for the City of Arkansas City, Parks Department. Contributions may be made through Shelley Family Funeral Home of Arkansas City.
Arnetta Kay was born on November 6, 1944 in Winfield, KS, the daughter of Kenneth and Cleo (Stockton) Graves. She was reared and educated in Arkansas City, where she graduated from high school. After high school, she attended Ponca City Beauty School. On July 16, 1964, at the Methodist church in Arkansas City, she married the love of her life Michael Curless. She owned her own shop as a hairdresser from 1965 to 2006. She had several passions, her flowers and cooking. She also enjoyed gardening and crafts but most of all she loved to care for family.
Her family includes: her husband, Michael of the home; her children, Nicohle Kallio and husband Christopher of Ft. Lauderdale, FL and Tyler Curless and wife Michelle of Salina, KS; her brothers, Russell Graves and wife Sandi of Arkansas City and Jim Bo Graves and wife Cheryl of Newkirk, OK; her brothers and sisters-in-law; Bob Skinner, Allen and Carol Curless, Carl and Kandi Curless and Marge Curless; her 5 grandchildren, Celeste Kallio, Christopher Curless, Piper Curless, Logan Curless and Shelby Curless and her 1 great-grandchild, Teegan Curless and one on the way. She was preceded in death by her parents, one sister, Charlotte Skinner; one brother-in-law, Bill Curless and one grandson, Nathan Curless.
