Bessie Myrtle (Czaplinski) Ziegler, 86, of Arkansas City, KS passed away Saturday, January 13, 2024, at William Newton Hospital.
Graveside memorial services will be held at 1:00 PM Saturday, January 20, 2024 at Parker Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the organization of the donor's choosing, donations may be left in the care of the Shelley Family Funeral Home of Arkansas City.
Bessie was born on November 19, 1937 in Caldwell, KS to parents Lucille (Popp) and Robert Czaplinski Sr. She attended Cowley County Junior College where she received an associate's degree and began a career in bookkeeping. On December 23, 1956, she was united in marriage to Jerry Ziegler, in Arkansas City. Bessie enjoyed music, playing the violin and saxophone, bowling, cooking, canning, sewing, gardening, and going to her children's and grandchildren's activities. She volunteered at the Cowley County polling centers and was a member of the Arkansas City American Legion Post 10 Auxiliary.
She is survived by her daughter Gwen Denison, son Todd Ziegler (Christina), grandchildren Cory Ziegler, Joshlynne Ziegler, Mathew Denison, Hilary Abson, and Marissa Ziegler, great-grandchildren Bennett Ziegler and Laith Abson, and brother Robert Czaplinski Jr.
She is preceded in death by her parents, husband and brother Kenneth Czaplinski.
