Beverly Godfrey Keller, 97, on passed away February 18, 2025 at Arkansas City Presbyterian Manor.
Graveside services will be held at 11:00 AM Friday, February 28, 2025 at Pleasant Valley Cemetery in Winfield. Visitation will be from 4-6 PM Thursday, February 27 at the Shelley Family Funeral Home in Winfield. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the First Presbyterian Church of Winfield, donations may be left in the care of the funeral home.
Beverly Keller was born on December 28, 1927, in Arkansas City, KS, the daughter of Irl and Jeanne (Muret) Godfrey. She was raised on a farm near Gueda Springs. She later graduated from Arkansas City High School in 1945 and received her bachelor’s in biology from Kansas State University in 1948. She worked at a lab in Ark City and at the Snyder Clinic in Winfield before marrying the love of her life and childhood sweetheart, Clinton V. Keller Jr. on January 2, 1949. The couple moved to Germany where Clinton was stationed. They eventually moved back to Winfield where she raised her family and later worked at William Newton Hospital as a Histology Technician until her retirement.
Beverly was a deacon at the 1st Presbyterian Church in Winfield for 45 years. In her spare time, she frequently attended various bridge clubs and coffee clubs, was active in PEO, and helped with the local Cub Scouts, needless to say, she was very integral and involved in the community. Beverly also enjoyed sewing, playing basketball in her youth and taking care of her precious dogs.
Beverly is survived by her children, Anne Keller (Gary), Eric Keller (Patti), Joel Keller (Sharon), grandchildren, Hilary, Mehala, and great-grandchild, Follie, her siblings, James Godfrey and William Godfrey.
She is preceded in death by her parents, husband and sister Joan Taylor.
