Bonnie Joan Fair, 90, of Arkansas City, KS passed away Saturday, December 9, 2023 at home, surrounded by her family.
Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 PM Thursday, December 14, 2023 at the Shelley Family Funeral Home of Arkansas City, graveside services will follow at the Rose Hill Cemetery in South Haven, KS. No visitation is scheduled. Memorial contributions may be made to the St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital, donations may be left in the care of the funeral home.
Bonnie was born on August 19, 1933, in Hunnewell, KS to parents Glenn H. and Myrtle E. (Bridges) Meeker. She graduated from South Haven High School in 1952 and on August 15, 1954 married the love of her life Richard D. Fair. The couple made their home in Arkansas City, where she worked for Southwest Bell from 1953-1958, she then worked for Brown’s Office Supplies and retired in 1993 after 20 years. Bonnie enjoyed gardening, being a member of St. Paul’s United Methodist Church of Arkansas City, helping on the election board, and watching the KC Chiefs and Oklahoma State Cowboys. The things she enjoyed most, were spending time with her grandkids, going for walks and swinging on the porch with her husband.
Her children survive Bonnie, Cheryl (Bert) Wilson, and Brenda (Dan) Lenninger; grandchildren, Rachel (Cline) Freihoff, Charlotte (Carlos) Trillo, Riley (Haley) Wilson, Beth Ann Tracy, Daniel (Sharon) Tracy, and Nicholas Lenninger; great-grandchildren, Zoe Wells, William Freihoff, Mason Brown, Madison, Karli and Jeslynn Trillo, Ryland Wilson, many nieces and nephews, and her caregiver for many years Patti “Tootie” Walker. She is preceded in death by her parents, siblings; Bobbie G. Meeker, Donald Meeker and stepbrother Charles A. Meeker and a granddaughter, Lydia Lenninger.
