Catherine “Betty” Creamer, 73, of Wellington, KS passed away peacefully on Monday, December 9, 2024 at Ascension Via Christi St. Francis Hospital.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Friday, December 13, 2024 at Hillside Baptist Church of Wellington. Her family will greet friends from 1-2 PM at the church, prior to services. Interment will take place at Prairie Lawn Cemetery. Because foster care was so near and dear to her heart memorial contributions may be made to Youth Horizons, a Christian non-profit organization that serves children in foster care. Donations may be left in the care of the Shelley Family Funeral Home of Winfield.
Betty was born June 19, 1951 in San Rafael, CA the daughter of Raymond and Vinita (Nichols) McClary. She graduated from high school in Iberia, MO and was united in marriage to the love of her life, Kenneth Creamer, on April 18, 1970 in Dixon, MO. They shared just under 54 wonderful years together. Betty loved taking care of others, especially children. She and Ken did foster care from 1985-1998 and adopted many of these children. Betty was found by her biological siblings on the TV show Long Lost Family in 2017. She was thrilled to have more family to love. Over the years she enjoyed sewing, crocheting, ceramics and crafting, gardening and yardwork, and cooking for everyone that she could feed. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Belle Plaine, First Southern Baptist and Hillside Baptist Church of Wellington. Her faith was very important to her and she cherished teaching children and youth Sunday school.
Survivors include her children Amy Macias, Travis Beasley (Tricia), Ben Creamer (Amanda), Robin Creamer, David Creamer (Shana), Edward Creamer, Michelle King (Chuck), Jonathan Creamer, Ethan Creamer (Bry), Cathy Creamer, and Ezekiel Creamer, 20 grandchildren, and numerous great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews, siblings Timothy J. Kerr (Claudeene), Ronald Kerr (Sue) and Peggy Williams.
She is preceded in death by her husband Kenneth, daughter Crystal Creamer, grandson Noah Macias, granddaughter Ruth Creamer, sister Alice Hunt, twin brother Robert McClary, and brothers Bill and Bruce McClary.
