Charity Melane Kropp

Charity Melane Kropp, 38, of Winfield, KS passed away Sunday, September 14, 2025 at Harry Hynes Hospice in Wichita.

Memorial services will be at 10 AM Tuesday, September 30th at the Central Baptist Church in Winfield, there will be a luncheon following and guests are welcome to bring dishes. Memorial contributions may be made to the Shelley Family Funeral Home to defray expenses.

Charity was born on May 12, 1987 in Winfield, KS. She was raised by her mother and stepfather, Angela and Jerry Byrd. She graduated from Winfield High School in 2005 and later found joy working at the Capper Foundation. Charity enjoyed collecting jewelry, going thrifting, and celebrating holidays, especially Christmas. Most of all she loved being with family and her dog “Momma”, and was very proud of her son, Acen. Although Charity was a child of God, she struggled with addiction throughout her life. If you are struggling, please reach out for help.

Charity is survived by her son Acen Rodriguez, father Jerry Byrd, siblings Jordan Byrd, Jayden Byrd and Chrissie Byrd, niece Hudson and grandmother Linda Montoya.

Charity is preceded in death by her mother, Angela Byrd.
