Chrystal Ann Bradford

Chrystal Ann Bradford, 67, passed away peacefully Friday, July 4, 2025 at William Newton Hospital in Winfield, KS.

Chrystal was born on August 24, 1957 in Bartlesville, OK to parents Preston and Pearl (Vaughn) Bradford. She graduated from Arkansas City High School and later got a cosmetology degree from Cowley College. After getting her education she moved to Denver, CO, where she worked as a cosmetologist, but her real passion was helping children, for 20 years she served as “The Lunch Lady” in the Denver public school system. In 2018 she moved back to Arkansas City. She was a member of the Pilgrim Rest Baptist Church in Arkansas City. Chrystal loved listening to music and cooking for others; she was the life of the party and the glue holding everyone together. Above all else, she cherished spending time with her family.

Chrystal is survived by her mother Pearl Bradford of Arkansas City, KS, son LaRon Bradford of Aurora, Co; and grandchildren Syraea Bradford of Aurora, CO; and Preston Bradford; brothers, Reginald Bradford of Palo Alto, CA; Lamont S. Goree of Arkansas City, KS; Richard Thompson of Bartlesville, OK; sisters Carolyn K. Hall of Arkansas City, KS; Lisa M. Bradford of Arkansas City, KS.

She is preceded in death by her father, brothers Preston R. Bradford and Rev. James A. Bradford, sisters Marva Sue Jackson and Sheila F. Goree.

Private family services will be held at a later date. Arrangements are in the care of the Shelley Family Funeral Home.
