Cody Eugene Richardson

Cody Eugene Richardson, 91, of Arkansas City, KS, passed away Monday, December 8, 2025, at his home.

Memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM Saturday, January 10, 2026, at the Arkansas City Church of God. Memorials in his name may be made to the Church of God; donations may be left in the care of the Shelley Family Funeral Home.

Cody was born in Columbus, KS to parents Fred and Lucy Jane (Stark) Richardson. He enlisted in the Army after school. On August 5, 1955, he was united in marriage to the love of his life, Beverly Jean Hill. The couple later moved to Arkansas City, where he worked for the water department for 10 years. He then went to work at GE, where he was an engine mechanic for over 30 years. Cody enjoyed fishing, hunting, woodworking, collecting guns and gardening, and eating pineapple cake. He was a member of the American Legion and the Church of God for over 42 years.

Cody is preceded in death by his parents, wife, and children, Michael Richardson and Cathy Richardson.

He is survived by his daughter, Becky McDuffy, grandchildren, Bryson Richardson, Candy Owens, Paul Creveling, Aaron Creveling, Michael Todd, great-grandchildren Bryson Jr., Rhianna, James, Neveah, Trever, Leo, John, Josie, Kyler, and Nahni.
