Curtis Edward Nelson, 65, of Winfield, KS passed away at his home, Friday, February 2, 2024.

Curtis was born March 4, 1958 in Wichita, KS to parents Weldon and Dorothy (Shelton) Nelson. He graduated from Wichita North High School in 1976. He then joined the Army and was honorably discharged after 4 years of active duty, and 3 years in the Army Reserves. In 1981 Curtis went to the Climate Control Institute and he began his 40+ year career as an HVAC contractor. Curtis was a jack of all trades, he was a member of the plumbers and pipefitters union #171, and he enjoyed tinkering and working with his hands.

He is survived by his sons Scott Nelson, Christopher Nelson (Tabitha), Jeremy Nelson, and Jessie Nelson, grandchildren: Trey Reisman, Mia Nelson, Dakota Nelson, Olivia Nelson, Sophia Nelson, Cooper Nelson, Kaytlin Nelson, Kayden Nelson, Corbyn Nelson, Bentley Nelson, JJ Hinsdale, and Breanna Hinsdale, and sister Peggy Guthridge. Curtis is preceded in death by his parents, brother Donnie Nelson, grandson Aiden Nelson, and granddaughter Penelope Nelson.
