Danna Rogene (Smith) Gowdy

Danna Rogene Gowdy, 62, of Winfield, KS, passed away Wednesday, October 16, 2024 at home, surrounded by her family.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 A.M. Monday, October 21, 2024 at the Shelley Family Funeral Home of Winfield. Burial will follow at Highland Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 2-4 P.M. Sunday, October 20, 2024 at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the Briana Fund at the Missionary Baptist Church of Arkansas City.

Danna was born November 15, 1961 in Wellington, KS to parents Danny and Carol Ann (Burgess) Smith. She graduated from Winfield High School in 1979 and worked as a bookkeeper for Big D Oil Co., Smith Oil Co. and Southwest Butler Quarry. Danna was united in marriage to the love of her life, Dave Gowdy, on June 3, 1979 at Central Baptist Church in Winfield. She loved horses and collecting ceramic horses, getting her nails done, attending the Missionary Baptist Church in Arkansas City, and spending time with her grandkids.

Danna is survived by her husband Dave Gowdy, son Joshua Gowdy (Jennifer), son Jarret Gowdy (Kayla), grandchildren Destiny, Erica, Tyler, Autumn, Chloe, Jacob, Neveah, Elliana, Laney, Tatum, Beckett, and Trace, great-grandchildren Alaiia and Sawyer, and sisters Cheryl Brock (Richard), and Andrea Crawford (Justin), and many extended family members. She is preceded in death by her parents, daughter Jennifer Ruth Ann Gowdy Caruthers, and granddaughter Briana Gowdy.
