Darlene Wallace Harper, 97, passed away Monday, November 3, 2025, at Winfield Senior Living Community.
Services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Friday, November 14, 2025, at the Winfield Church of Christ. Memorial contributions in her name may be made out to the Church of Christ, donations may be left in the care of the Shelley Family Funeral Home.
Darlene was born on September 5, 1928, on a farm near Hewins, KS to Roy and Lou Wallace. She attended rural schools and graduated from Winfield High School in 1948. In 1949 she married Donald Fox and together they had two children, Nelson and Judy. Later the couple divorced. In 1965 Darlene married Don Harper. She was a faithful member of the Church of Christ. She belonged to the Extension Council, Weight Watchers and the TOPS club for 50 years. She enjoyed volunteering for the Red Cross, serving the Bloodmobile for 38 years. She enjoyed cooking, gardening, and being outside.
She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, 3 brothers, 2 sisters, 2 stepsons and 1 step grandson. She is survived by son Nelson (Barb) Fox, daughter Judy Flock, stepdaughters Dee (Steve) Riley, Avonna Flora, and Michelle Senart. Grandchildren Brady (Karey) Flock, Megan (Justin) Cates. Great grandchildren Noah Randolph, Aspen Cates and Fallon Cates. 15 step grandchildren, 24 step great grandchildren, 5 step great great grandchildren as well as several nieces and nephews.
