On January 22, 1999 she was united in marriage to the love of her life, Maynard Wood. They later moved to Winfield. Darlene enjoyed being involved in the Winfield VFW and American Legion, she helped with every holiday community event and was thankful for the friends she made there. Darlene was always quick to laugh and very detail oriented. She found immense joy gardening, making arts and crafts, going to the Walnut Valley Bluegrass festival, and in recent years enjoyed baking bread and Legos. She loved collecting frogs, her self-proclaimed spirit animal and had a sweet tooth of biblical proportions. Most of all she loved spending time with her family and friends.
Survivors include her husband Maynard Wood, sons Jason Crain, John Crain (Rene), Mike Wood, and daughter April Biesel, and great-grandchildren Damion Wood and Domnique. She is preceded in death by her parents and sister Wanda.
