Dean Eldon Richards, 87, of Geuda Springs, Ks, passed away on Tuesday, August 7, 2018 at his home.
Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday, August 11, 2018 at Missionary Baptist Church in Arkansas City. Burial will follow at Geuda Springs Cemetery. A visitation will be held from 12:00 to 8:00 P.M. on Friday at Shelley Family Funeral Home of Arkansas City. The family will greet friends from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. that evening. A memorial in Dean’s name has been established with Missionary Baptist Church. Contributions may be left with the church or the funeral home.
Dean was born on September 7, 1930 in Wichita, KS, the son of Marjorie Moyer. He was reared and educated in Arkansas City, KS. After high school, he joined in the United States Army Air Force and was honorably discharged on April 2, 1948. On April, 1, 1955, he was united in marriage to Beatrice Taylor, in Newkirk, OK. The couple made their home in Geuda Springs. He worked as an assembler at Boeing Aircraft for 21 years before retiring in 1996. He enjoyed the Saturday visitations and playing dominoes.
His family includes: his wife, Beatrice of the home, his daughters, Debra (Richards) Dowler and husband Steve, Judy (Freeman) Miller and husband Jack; his brother Jack Moyer; his brother-in-law Jerry Taylor and wife Gloria; his grandchildren, Nathan and Tricia Cook; his great-grandchildren, Colten Cook, Lakin Cook, Gage Cook, Kaydence McCreary and Gabby Havner.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Marjorie Duncan and grandson, Dustin Cook.
