Doloris Maxine Godsey, 92, of Winfield, KS passed away peacefully Saturday, January 1, 2022 at Winfield Rest Haven.
Doloris was born December 9, 1929 in Winfield, KS the daughter of Kenneth and Frances Thelma (Kimsey) Golightley. She lived most of her life in Winfield and attended Winfield High School. She worked at Safeway Grocery in the butcher department for over 25 years. She was united to Gerald Godsey July 7th, 1967. Doloris was a member of the Winfield First United Methodist Church and enjoyed volunteering at the Cowley County Historical Museum and the Red Cross, bowling in Winfield and Ark City, traveling, and spending time with her dog Prissy.
Doloris is survived by her daughters Linda Jones and husband Walter of Newport News, VA and Brenda Fisk and husband Kelly of Powdered Springs, GA, brother Richard Golightley and wife Linda, half-sister Loreena Fogle and husband Mark of Georgetown, TX; step-children: Sharyn and Art Ramey of Wichita, Ron and Donetta Godsey of Winfield, Linda and Allan Jones of Winfield and Janet and Fred Depenbusch of Nashville, KS; as well as many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband, parents, brother Bob Golightley, sister Barbara Counts, and children Vaits Forrest Fulk III and Marilyn Fulk.
Graveside services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Saturday, January 8, 2022 at Highland Cemetery in Winfield. A time of visitation is scheduled from 5-7 P.M. Friday, January 7 at the Shelley Family Funeral Home of Winfield. The family asks that attendees please wear a mask. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Red Cross and the Cowley County Historical Society, donations may be left in the care of the Shelley Family Funeral Home.
