Donald Young Obituary

Donald Leroy Young, 82, passed away Friday, March 6, 2020 at the Kansas Veterans’ Home in Winfield.

Donald was born July 17, 1937 to parents Howard and Gladis (Moffitt) Young in Elk Falls, KS. He graduated from Howard High School in 1956. In 1957 Donald married Jeanine Doughty in Seattle, WA. Donald joined the Navy in 1954 and served for 20 years as an aviation electronics technician, he also worked as a corrections officer and at the Crayola factory. He enjoyed fishing, and hunting for quail and rabbits.

Survivors include his wife Jeanine Young, son Gerald Young and daughter Sheryl Young. He is preceded in death by his parents.

Cremation will take place, no services are scheduled at this time. Arrangements are in care of Shelley Family Funeral Home of Winfield.
