Donoljoe Smith Obituary

Donoljoe Smith, 89, of Salina, Kansas, passed away on Monday, June 7, 2021 at the Kansas Veterans’ Home in Winfield, Kansas.

 He was born October 29, 1931 in Salina to George M. Smith and Leona K. (Dugan) Smith. He was united in marriage to Jacqualine (Jackie) J. (Weckel) in Salina. They moved to Colorado Springs, Colorado where their first son (Craig) was born. They moved to Tribune, Kansas three years later where Joe and his brother started Smith Manufacturing where they built water coolers for tractor cabs and other farming equipment. He also worked for the Kansas Department of Transportation in Russell, Kansas.

Donoljoe spent a lot of his spare time restoring old cars. He was especially proud of his 1931 Model A and 1966 Mustang convertible. He also enjoyed boating, fishing and water skiing while spending weekends at their cabin at the lake.

Donoljoe was preceded in death by his father (Milton), mother (Leona), sister (Clena) and husband (Fred), brother (Dearald) and wife (Wanda), brother (Marvin) and son (Craig).

He is survived by wife (Jackie), daughter (Brenda), son (Eric) and wife Lisa, sister (Claudine) “Kay” Emrich and grandchildren (Colby and Dylan Smith).

Private family services will be held at a later time. Arrangements are in care of Shelley Family Funeral Home of Winfield.
