Dorothy Ione Rush, 92, of Oxford, KS, passed away on October 29, 2024, at her home.
There are no services scheduled at this time. Arrangements are entrusted to the Oxford Funeral Service.
Dorothy was born on April 29, 1932, in Vega, TX, to parents Charles and Sarah (Fern) Steward. She attended Dexter High School. On September 2, 1952 she was united in marriage to the love of her life, Jack Rush. Dorothy started working at the Oxford Nursing Home when it first opened; she later went to work for Binney and Smith for over 30 years. She retired early to take care of her husband and later her mother. She enjoyed photography, especially taking pictures of rainbows, and collecting jars, and was a member of the Oxford Coin Club and the Oxford Christian Church.
Dorothy is survived by her son Bennie Rush (Susan), grandchildren Ben and Rachel, step-grandchildren Todd, Kris, and Will, siblings Charlotte Hendricks (John), and brother Charles L. Steward (Linda), as well as numerous great-grandchildren and cousins.
She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, daughter Jackie Rush, and sisters Mildred, Jane, and Evelyn.
