Edith Marie (Hladik) Morton, 80, of Wichita passed away Wednesday, October 30, 2019 surrounded by her family.

Memorial services will be held at 2:00 P.M. November 4th at the Kansas Veterans Cemetery of Winfield. Memorials in Edith’s name may be made out to the Alzheimer’s Research foundation and left in the care of the Shelley Family Funeral Home of Winfield.

Edith was born on February 23, 1939 in Benton, Kansas the daughter of John Franklin and Ida Matilda (Thomas) Hladik. She graduated from Benton High School in 1957 and later attended cosmetology school in Wichita. On March 15, 1961 she was united in marriage to Jack Billy Morton at the Kay County court house. Edith was a homemaker and enjoyed going to garage and estate sales, babysitting and being around children, playing card and board games, especially dominos. Most of all she loved being with her family.

Edith is survived by daughter Jackie Pearson, son Russell John Morton and wife Jeanne, grandchildren: Drew, Grant, Derek, and Peyton; great-grandchildren: Lexi, Kamdyn, Emmett, Kenzley. She is preceded in death by her husband, parents, brother Delbert Hladik and sister Dorothy Aary.
