Eric Todd Lybarger, 57, of Winfield, KS, passed away on May 31, 2026, at the Wesley Hospital in Wichita.

 

A come-and-go Celebration of Life will be held from 2-4 PM on Sunday June 7, 2026 at College Hill Coffee in Winfield. Memorials in his name may be made to the WSU School of Performing Arts and may be left in the care of the Shelley Family Funeral Home or at

Eric was born on December 14, 1968, in Jonesboro, AR to William A. and Fonda M. (Qualls) Lybarger, he graduated from Ruston High School in 1987. He received his BA in Mass Communications from Southwestern College in 1992, his MA in Education from Southwestern College in 1995, and his MA in Healthcare Administration from Oklahoma State University in 2013. Eric most recently worked as the Executive Director at Andover Court Assisted Living in Andover, KS as well as an adjunct professor at Southwestern College teaching Health Care Administration courses online. 

 

 

He took pride in his work and made a positive impact everywhere he worked. On June 27, 2004, he was united in marriage to the love of his life, Sarah Louise Bowman in Winfield, KS. Eric loved his family - especially his girls, and all he wanted was to see them happy and watch them grow into beautiful women. Along with the love he had for his family, Eric was known for being effortlessly witty.

 

He had a broad range of music taste, enjoyed watching KU and OSU games with the family, hosting grill nights on the patio, trips to Lawrence, KS, creating inside jokes, and taking any opportunity he could to help others.


Eric is survived by his wife Sarah, daughters Victoria Butler (Jordan), Emily Werner, and Olivia Lybarger, grandchild Bennie Butler, sister Melodie Taylor (Tracy), and parents William and Fonda Lybarger.
