Ernest L. Snow, 93, of Arkansas City, KS passed away Sunday, February 18, 2024 at his home.
Graveside services with military honors will be held at 1:00 PM Monday, February 26, 2024 at Parker Cemetery. No visitation is scheduled. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Legion Post 18, donations may be left in the care of the Shelley Family Funeral Home of Arkansas City.
Ernie was born on November 30, 1930, in Arkansas City, KS to parents Ernest Ray and Marie Jane (Grady) Snow. He attended Ark City schools before enlisting in the US Army in 1947 where he served until he was honorably discharged. He was then drafted into the Marines in 1952. On August 25, 1951 he was united in marriage to the love of his life, Beverly Logan, in Wellington, KS. After being honorably discharged from the military he worked as a butcher, then for Boeing, and finally, he started Snow Construction which he ran for over 20 years. Ernie enjoyed woodworking, going to craft shows with his wife, being a member of the American Legion Post 18, having good conversations, and most of all spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife Beverly, children Carol Andra (Randy), Mike Snow (Lisa), Pat Bailey, Jeff Snow, and Tracy Looney (Bryson); siblings Larry Snow of TN, Keith Snow of Blackwell, OK, and Sharon Parker of GA; 11 grandchildren, 29 great-grandchildren, and 14 great-great-grandchildren with 3 on the way.
He is preceded in death by his parents, son-in-law John K. Bailey, siblings Harold Wilcox, John Snow, Elmer Snow, Don Snow, Melvin Snow, Dennis Snow, Juanita Powers, Geniva Mitchell, and Cheryl Snow.
