Fay Alice Catlin, 85, of Oxford, KS passed away Sunday, May 2, 2021 at Wesley Medical Center in Wichita.
Graveside services will be held at 11 A.M. Friday, May 7, 2021 at the Oxford Cemetery, a time of visitation will be held from 6-8 P.M. Thursday, May 6 at the Oxford Funeral Service. Memorials may be made to the “Fay Catlin Memorial” for children in need, contributions may be left in the care of the funeral home.
Fay was born on January 16, 1936 in Wells, KS to parents James “Art” and Gladys Vivian (Payne) Yonally. Fay graduated from Miltonvale High School in 1954, shortly afterward she was united in marriage to the love of her life, Harry Catlin, at the Miltonvale Christian Church on July 25, 1954. Fay loved being a homemaker and raising her family, going to ball games and any of her kids’, grandkids’ and great-grandkids’ events. When her children were older, she worked at Friendship Meals in Oxford. A job and people she really enjoyed. She enjoyed sewing, fishing, playing cards and playing softball. “Grandma Fay” as she was known to many, always had an open door and a snack ready for anyone. Family was the most important thing to Fay and she showed that with how she lived.
Fay is survived by her children: Jeanice Lowry (Tommy), Janice Slack (Michael), James “Jim” Catlin (Hilary), Jason Catlin (Tisha); grandchildren: Devin Catlin, Matt Lowry, Tim Catlin, Adam Catlin, Matthew Tincher (Elizabeth) Colten Tincher, Abbey Elliott (Doug), Darci Reyes (Jason), Aniesa Slack (A.J. Strickland), Kayla Slack, and Fayth Catlin; 15 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild; sister Lois Larson, brother-in-law Dean Catlin (Diana) and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
She is preceded in death by her husband Harry, parents and infant sister Myrtle Ilene Yonally.
