Fay Allen Dow Obituary

Fay Allen Dow, 81, passed away peacefully on Sunday, August 17, 2025 at Poplar Bluff, MO Regional Medical Center.


Funeral services will be at 10:00 A.M. on Saturday, August 30, 2025, at the Shelley Family Funeral Home in Arkansas City, KS. Burial will follow at Parker Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 6-8 P.M. Friday, August 29, 2025 at the funeral home. Donations may be made to the Shelley Family Funeral Home to defray expenses.


Fay was born on March 24, 1944, in Fairview, OK to parents Enick and Florene (Cravens) Dow. He attended Fairview Public School. Fay married his sweetheart, Delilia “Dee” Fay Fortune, in Arkansas City, KS where they made their home. Fay was a hard worker, for 32 years he worked at GE Aerospace, testing jet engines, he also worked for Santa Fe and at the packing plant in Arkansas City. He loved to tinker, often visiting garage sales and collecting antiques, and turning one man’s “junk” into another man’s treasure. Fay was a dedicated father, and he loved his family dearly.


Fay is survived by his son Dave Dow and stepson Brian Hand, sister Bonnie (Larry), and brother Kenny Dow, three grandchildren, and many extended family members. He is preceded in death by his wife, parents, and several brothers and sisters.
