Frances Ruth (Williams) Pappan

Frances R. (Williams) Pappan, 80, of Arkansas City, KS, passed away Monday, October 2, 2023 at Presbyterian Manor.

Memorial services will be held at 10:00 A.M. Friday, October 6, 2023 at the Shelley Family Funeral Home of Arkansas City. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Good Samaritan Fund at Presbyterian Manor. Donations may be left in the care of the funeral home.

Frances was born October 5, 1942 the daughter of Aulus and Alma (Hicks) Williams. She was born in Bakersfield, CA and lived there until she was 6 years old, then her family moved to Oklahoma and eventually to Arkansas City, KS. Fran attended Ark City Jr. High and High School where she was also a cheerleader. On June 6, 1959 Fran married her childhood sweetheart, Jerry Deamer Pappan, they spent many wonderful years together until his passing in 2020. Fran earned her cosmetology license after high school but spent most of her life as a full-time homemaker, wife, and mother.

Survivors include her son Scott Pappan and his wife Juliann, daughter Deena Pappan, multiple grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and siblings: Robert Williams, Leon Williams, Mary Wahlenmaier, and Peggy Acosta. She is preceded in death by her sister Georgia May Williams, parents Aulus and Alma Williams, and her husband Jerry Pappan.
