Helen Faye Fields, 82, of Arkansas City, KS, passed away on Tuesday, March 31, 2026, at South Central Kansas Medical Center in Ark City.
Graveside services will be held at Parker Cemetery in Ark City at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, April 6, 2026. A visitation will take place prior to the service from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. at Shelley Family Funeral Home in Ark City. Memorial contributions in her name may be made to the Cowley County Humane Society and left in the care of the funeral home.
Helen was born on December 8, 1943, in Wichita, KS, to William “Doc” and Goldie (Cannon) Logan. She graduated from Ark City High School in 1961. Helen had a full and dedicated career, working at Cessna Aircraft and later at Ark City Hospital as a physical therapist and X-ray technician. She retired from Gordon-Piatt. In 1995, she married Charles (“Charlie”) Fields.
Helen was as free-spirited as they come. She enjoyed horseback riding, four-wheeling, and jet skiing. Her hobbies included photography, gardening, and camping at Beaver Lake. Most of all, Helen loved her many pets—Sugar, Boo, and Rudy, just to name a few.
Helen is survived by her children: Tommy (Alicha) Scott, John (Traci) Scott, Timothy (Amanda) Scott, Patrick Scott, and Aaron (Lana) Fields; her grandchildren, Joshua, Ashlynn, Airacha, Courtney, Laura, Amanda, Tyson, Logan, Andrew, Allee, Evan, Alex, Alexis, Harper, Harrison, and Henry; 26 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great grandchild; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her siblings, Beverly Snow, Barbara Kelsey, and Bill Logan; and her infant brothers, George and Lonnie Logan.
