Janice Marie (Tannehill) Nichols

Janice Marie Nichols, 66, of Arkansas City passed away Thursday, October 7, 2021 at her home, surrounded by her family.

Her family will hold celebration of life services at 2:00 P.M. Saturday, October 16 at Calvary Chapel of Arkansas City, interment will take place at Riverview Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, donations may be left in the care of the Shelley Family Funeral Home of Arkansas City.

Janice was born on November 23, 1954 the daughter of Jay and Letha (Goodnight) Tannehill, she was raised and educated in Arkansas City. On April 14, 1973 Janice was united in marriage to Earl “Dave” Nichols at the First Church of the Nazarene in Arkansas City. Janice enjoyed being a homemaker and caring for her family, she also worked as a cook at Shamrock, La Familia and Lotta Burger in Arkansas City and Ponca City. She liked watching Gun Smoke and the Walton’s, drinking coffee, decorating her home for the holidays and spending time with her grandkids.

Survivors include her husband Dave, children: Brian Nichols, Brad Nichols, Jamie Nichols, and Kiara Nichols; grandchildren: Alyssa Nichols, Kaylin Nichols, Jaisa Nichols, Scottlen Nichols, Laken McKinley, and Holly McDowell; seven great-grandchildren; siblings: Ron Tannehill, Sherrie Schroder, Diana Vannoy, Donna Tipton, Brenda Case, JT Tannehill, and Melvin Tannehill. She is preceded in death by her parents, and brothers Donald, Tommy, and Kelvin Tannehill.
