Jerry Leon Johnson

Jerry Leon Johnson, 84, of Parkerfield, KS passed away peacefully, Friday, October 13, 2023 at home.

Memorial services will be held at 10:00 AM Friday, October 20, 2023 at the First Baptist Church of Arkansas City. Memorial contributions may be made to the First Baptist Church, donations may be left in the care of the Shelley Family Funeral Home of Arkansas City.

Jerry was born January 31, 1939 in Manhattan, KS to parents Wes and Josephine (Brooks) Johnson. He graduated from Keats High School in 1957 and joined the National Guard, he was honorably discharged in 1962. Jerry was united in marriage to Dorothy (Bailey) Milliron on September 17, 2013 in Wichita, KS. Jerry worked in construction before becoming a Kansas State Trooper. He was stationed in Sedgwick County and on the Kansas Turnpike for 18 years until his retirement. Jerry was very proud to be a foster parent for over 25 years.

Survivors include his wife Dorothy Johnson, of the home; children Christine Fowler of Huntsville, AL, Jill Brock of Wichita, KS, Merilee Long of Valley Center, KS, and Nick Johnson of Great Falls, MT; stepsons Todd Milliron of Yorkville, IL, and Douglas Milliron of Parkerfield, KS; brother John Johnson of Lebo, KS, and sister Sue Feltner of Marysville, TN.

 Jerry is preceded in death by his parents and wives Becky and Enid.
